Nkosi's Haven Village - Alan Manor

Situation Analysis
An offer, in collaboration with the national department of housing, has been made to purchase a property with 13 self-contained cottages and flats in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg. The main house needs to be converted to accommodate a central kitchen, a paediatric ward and hospice, a communal dining room and an office. This property is envisaged to service mothers and children from Soweto.

The department of housing is intending to use this as a pilot project. They are prepared to finance the purchase of the property and an amount per mother and child. The property will remain the legal entity of Nkosi 's Haven.

The existing cottages can accommodate:
100 mothers
183 children
The intention is to improve the existing facilities and build workshops for empowerment projects, a crèche and a swimming pool.
